1935 is when it all began for the Beals family, with three generations, owning a Ford Mercury car dealership for 55 years. Nate Beals,The father of Ralph Beals, Ralph Beals the son of Nate and Father to Mike Beals and Mike Beals the son of Ralph and Grandson to Nate. Mike Beals sold his very first car at the age of 16 and this is where it began for him.

January of 1991 Interstate Motors INC was built from the ground up by a Father and Son, Ralph and Mike Beals. As the years went by a lot of things changed, with electronics, economically and with the internet becoming a big plat form. One thing that didn't change with Interstate Motors INC was the family base they created and carried on through out the years.

February of 2020, a change had come that was unexpected and left us with an emptiness. Ralph, father of Mike, had passed away. This left not just the family of Ralph with an emptiness, but also the Interstate Motors INC family. Ralph was about business, but making friends here was important to him and a passion as he always made everyone a top priority.

Ralph and Mike started this dealership as a business, but their story wasn't just "business" it was about family and making friendships with anyone who walked through their door. They both were focused on building trust with each person, and always helping in anyway they could. Whether it was a customer, or just someone who would walk on their car lot. Being passionate and honest about your job leaves you feeling proud at the end of everyday.

Building a dealership based on family is what keeps our business going, but the support of our community and customers is why we are still here. Many changes have happened in the last year. After the loss of Ralph, Mike knew he had to carry on this family/generation car dealership and this is when he came to his daughter, Lacey Stigers, with his thoughts for Interstate Motors INC and its future.

August 31st 2020 is when a new chapter opened for Interstate Motors INC. Mike made a decision to bring in his daughter, Lacey Stigers." If there was a perfect fit to our dealership, it would be her" many regular customers and Mike say. She pushes herself daily to meet everyone's needs and loves meeting new people. She has watched her Grandpa and Father for many years in this business and knows its not about the "numbers." Its about loyalty and listening to each person and to always do your best to meet their expectations. Since then we have remodeled our dealership giving it many upgrades that was well needed and with the internet being a big platform this was right where Lacey needed to be. This is how our business has now created the fourth generation to our car dealship, Interstate Motors INC.

Carrying on the Interstate Motors INC tradition was important to Mike after 29 years of being a Father/Son car dealership. Before, the family owned Ford Mercury Dealership and now It has now become a fourth generation as Father (mike), Daughter (Lacey) together at Interstate Motors INC. It creates the story that Mike and Ralph were always proud to tell. Now the story gets to be told for many more years by Mike and Lacey.

Mike and Lacey's favorite part of Vandalia is the out pouring support of the community. From the customers support that keeps our dealership where it is today, to the amazing support received after losing Ralph Beals. Lacey states " since the first day I have started here, everyone has treated me wonderfully and not like the new girl in town, which just makes me even more proud and excited to be here".

Our future plans are to continue staying in business as a family, carrying on the traditions that were created by Father (Ralph) and son (mike). Interstate Motors Inc is proud to be known now and in the future as a Father (Mike) and Daughter (Lacey) family owned business. We just want to continue making our customers and community proud and comfortable here at Interstate Motors INC.
